If you’re looking for a unique and meaningful gift for the special someone’s on your list, you can shop with purpose by checking out some of the Christian artists and creators who are contributing to the modern faith narrative with their unique witness and profound products.

Danielle Hitchen, Author & Founder of Catechesis Books

Danielle Hitchen offers beautiful books, art prints and posters, and cards and coloring for young and old alike.

She is the author of Sacred Seasons, a year-long devotional designed to help families experience the beauty and wonder of the liturgical calendar. “Part theology, part church history, and part practical spirituality, Sacred Seasons provides an easy-to-use guide to observing the liturgical year complete with fun activities, delicious recipes, and meaningful liturgies.”

Danielle’s 10-book series of Baby Believer Board books introduces your sweetest little one to the basics of both scripture and their life in God’s world. Let There Be Light explores opposites, while From Eden to Bethlehem introduces kiddos to a variety of animals in God’s kingdom. You can order each individually or the full series.

Douglas McKelvey, Author, Every Moment Holy

Wherever there are people, there are opportunities to engage the holy. That’s certainly Douglas McKelvey’s approach to his work. Now in three volumes, McKelvey’s Every Moment Holy offers contemporary liturgies for everyday moments, from the ritual of morning coffee to the preparation of a meal, as well as liturgies for those moments when few people can even form words, during times of grief and national sorrow, and beyond.

Several of McKelvey’s liturgies are available as broadsides, featuring artwork by Ned Bustard, which make great gifts for the coffee lover, cook, new mother, or book lover in your life. (I have two in my kitchen, and I love them.) Explore the liturgy prints on The Rabbit Room

McKelvey is also offering electronic access to an advent journal this holiday season. You can access it here.

Shop with Purpose

Wherever you go and whatever you do for this Christmas season, shop with purpose. It isn’t really about the cost of an item but its value and meaning. If you’re looking for more ways to bless a friend or family member this holiday, browse through some gift ideas that don’t rely on the supply chain, or stop by one of your favorite little independent shops around the country, like Fig & Oak or the General Specific Store.
